Local Cabo San Lucas oil and acrylic realism and abstract professional painter, Hellen Garcia, was born in Mexico City and arrived in Los Cabos in 1998. Hellen’s first public Gallery showing of her work that features animals, and local landscape made its premier in San Jose del Cabo during 2009.
“In 2015, I had the opportunity to participate in a collection of art pieces called ”Pueblos Magicos” (Magical Towns) that are hanging in the The International Insurance Offices at Plaza San Lucas,” said Hellen. In 2016, Garcia sold more of her art work at the Thursday Night Art Walk in San Jose del Cabo’s Central Plaza. Since then, Hellen’s framed art work has been available at the Circuito Cultural Art Show held Saturday evening’s along the northwestern section of the Cabo San Lucas Marina, behind Tesoro Resort Hotel near event sponsor, Solomon’s Landing Restaurant. Her art work is also available at the Sunday and Wednesday evening Art Shows at Villas de Palmar Hotel Resort & Spa. Hellen can easily be recognized by her red-colored hair and friendly, sweet personality. Her pieces range in size and price and most are readily affordable. Hellen’s art has also been a part of the San Jose del Cabo Jazz Festival which takes place every second week of February that featured 28 different artists in 2019.
Hellen’s real name in Rosa Elena Garcia Ponce, who only began using her artist pseudonym when she finally had enough work to display and offer to the public. . Her pseudonym sounds just like the name Helen, and the extra L was added as a means to distinguish herself and her work. Hellen’s art pieces sell in range from as low as $40 USD to as high as $400 dollars.
