Far from being the remote fishing village of thirty years ago, Cabo San Lucas has stolen the resort scene in Mexico. Located on the same latitude as Hawaii, at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula west of mainland Mexico and close (approximately 1,000 miles south of San Diego) proximity to California, Cabo San Lucas has become the frequent destination for many world travelers.

Looking for sandy beaches? Cabo has them, some popular ones are close to downtown. Medano Beach (Playa el Medano) is safe for swimming and popular with its lively music and Mexican fiestas, or take the water taxi and spend the afternoon on Lover’s Beach in seclusion. There are even more beaches along the Los Cabos Tourist Corridor.

Everything’s up to date in Los Cabos with gourmet delis, liquor stores specializing in world-renown wines and tequila, and “big box” super markets for every discriminating shopper. With Costco and Home Depot new to the area, your every need is readily satisfied.

Para-sailing? Sky diving? Scuba diving? Snorkeling? Or just a sunset dinner cruise. Cabo San Lucas has activities that satisfy the locals and thousands of tourists that visit Cabo San Lucas year after year.

There are not many places where you can swim with dolphins; in Cabos San Lucas, get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures. It’s hard to imagine which amazing experiences in Los Cabos you will remember the most. Spotting the whales as they play in the Sea of Cortez. Scuba diving among the otherworldly creatures. Seeing the outcropping of rock that forms the famous Arch, at Land’s  End. Or spending the afternoon on the Cabo San Lucas marina sipping Margaritas ogling the luxury yachts in the harbor. Whale watching is a popular activity from December through March when the gray whales from the Artic travel the 7,000 mile trek to the Baja Peninsula to mate and give birth. World-class fishing tournaments are held year-round with a strict catch-and-release program.

There are five public championship golf courses in the Cabo San Lucas area, along the Tourist Corridor, that have been rated among the world’s best by “Golf” magazine and “Golf Digest.” Rolling desert terrain against the Sea of Cortez, man-made lakes, and verdant green fairways provide “eye candy” for golfers while testing their skills.

Los Cabos, which means “the Capes”, consisting of Cabo San Lucas, its sister city, San Jose del Cabo located 20 miles away, and the Tourist Corridor in between, becomes a second home for many visitors. Beach front, on the side of a mountain, gated communities, whatever your preference, Los Cabos has many choices. The booming real estate market is alive and well along the 20-mile tourist corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

You’ll find Cabo San Lucas where the desert meets the mountains and rushes into the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, on the very tip of the Baja California Peninsula.
